First Look | New Albany Classic | Columbus, OH

Last week I had the privilege of spending my morning with some amazing local bloggers getting a behind the scenes look at The New Albany Classic.  It was a ton of fun to learn more about an event that I love so much.

First let me give you details for the event and then I will share with you how it impacts our community.  If you've been to The Classic before you know it's a great event and so much fun! If you haven't, I hope you'll check it out this year.  We went a few years ago and planned to go last year but I didn't end up buying our tickets in time.  This year, we're set to go already!! (yay!!) The best way to describe The New Albany Classic...it's like a sophisticated backyard fair.  There are plenty of fun attractions for every member of your family.  Your kiddos can sit on Harry Potter's broom, hold Katniss' bow from The Hunger Games, take a selfie with Batman's costume?  The Classic has got you covered.  Do you little one's love amusement rides? They've got those too.   Your ticket includes the rides, so no need to buy an extra wristband or tickets to ride! I will go for the food and the horses! Everything from kettle corn, to food trucks, to Popsicles. A few community partners include The Children's Theatre, Ballet Met, Greater Columbus Arts Council, and Sunny 95.  There will be dinosaurs, Kelsea Ballerini performing LIVE, and of course the Grand Prix.

The New Albany Classic celebrates the work done by The Center for Family Safety and Healing.  The Center for Family Safety and Healing, helps families heal after abuse.  So far the center has helped 1400 children who have been physically or sexually abused.  These children are on the road to healing, and the center provides them a safe and welcoming environment to do that.  Women without children can get help at The Center.  This year will be the 19th year for The New Albany Classic and so far they have raised 27 million dollars for The Center for Family Safety and Healing. You can see their most recent campaign "Where's The Line?" here.
