Big News & Brunch with my Mama

Yesterday I got to spend the entire morning with my mama, brunching and shopping.  It was amazing to have some quality time with my mom. I don't know about you but with a husband, little ones, jobs, and running my own house, it's been very hard to find some time to spend just the two of us.  Call me selfish, but I really enjoyed getting my mom to myself for a few hours to talk about adult things, enjoy some mimosas, and eat a meal with no interruptions.  We were also doing some research for a new weekly feature that I'm starting (more on that in a minute).

I met my mom at her downtown apartment and we walked to the Short North where we had reservations at Forno (bottomless mimosas....anyone?). Our brunch was delicious and we sat there for about 2 hours...it was crazy.  We just kept talking and next thing we knew it was two hours later.  When we left we walked over to Le Chocoholique for dessert before we headed back to my house for a family cookout we had promised my daughter we would have on Sunday evening.  While brunch and spending time with my mom was great, it was equally as great to have her over at my house cooking with me, helping me with my dishes, playing with my kids, and just being together.  I feel very blessed to have such a great mom and very lucky that we have such a great relationship.

Real quick...this new feature I was talking about.  If you know anything about me, you know that I LOVE brunch.  If I could I would have weekend brunch everyday of the week...so I am starting a brunch feature.  Every week I will try a new brunch spot in Columbus...sometimes with my kids and sometimes without.  I will give you a glimpse into the atmosphere, the food, if it's kid friendly or not, and so much more.  Stay tuned next week for the very first post.  If you have a spot I should try feel free to comment below with your suggestion.  You can also follow along and share your brunch pictures on Instagram #614momsbrunch
